“Battle
stations!” Samantha yelled, “Lieutenant, take command.”
“Yes
mam.”
answered the lieutenant.
Commander Samantha Sterling was
cruising through hyperspace in the S.S.
Deadulus, an Alpha-class destroyer, heading back to liberty base on the planet
Earth after completing after completing it’s previous mission. Then, out of
nowhere the Deadulus was pulled out of hyperspace right next to the planet Mars
with a few dozen enemy starfighter squadrons surrounding the destroyer.
Samantha rushed out of the bridge
down several winding passages heading towards the fighter bay. The sounds of
the battle alert and the ships lazer defence turrets were blaring. Fighter
crews were rushing down the passage with
Samantha in the lead.
As they burst through the doors to
the fighter bay disaster struck, the
ship had taken a direct torpedo hit leaving a gaping hole in the cargo bay
wall.
“All squadrons move out!” Samantha shouted whilst scaling the ladder into her
phantom fighter. With the sounds of battle raging around Samantha kept her cool.
As the fighter squadrons moved out the
sounds of battle intensefied as the enemy fighters focused their lazer blasts
on the newly arriving fighters. Samantha’s radio turned on,
“Commander.”
“Yes
liutenant.”
“Ship
taking critical damage, I don’t think we’ll make it.”
“Patch
me into Mars base.”
“Yes
mam.”
“This
is liutenant commander Samantha Sterling requesting back-up, I repeat this is
liutenant commander Samantha Sterling requesting back-up, do you read?”
“This
is Mars base, commander we read you loud and clear. Stand by for back-up.”
“Thank
you Mars base.”
Just
then a colossal lazer barrage erupted from the ground below, and with amazing
accuracy wiped out all enemy fighters but not before one fired a torpedo at the
hull of the Deadulus.
“Commander
last torpedo was a direct hit, we’re going down.”
“This
is commander Sterling requesting permission to land. Our ship is badly
damaged.”
“This
is Mars base granting permission to land, I hope you didn’t suffer any major
casualties.”
“Thank
you Mars base once again. All squadrons prepare to land.”
As
all of the fighter squadrons landed on Mars repair crews on the ground were
rushing to repair the ship.
A
couple of days later the massive desroyer and all of it’s crew were cruising
back to Earth.
