It's Party Time

What a way to end August with a bash!
Oma came into town.  It was so great to see her.  She was able to come spend a couple days with us before she had to fly back to El Paso.  Also, it was my cousin Megan's Birthday.  We drove to Sallisaw for her party.

New Fight Song

This is an early recording of our new song.  Come to the game and you will hear us play it loud and proud.  Here is a video clip from us playing it in summer band.

As for the mascot we will be the rebels until the student body votes this year on what we would like it to be.  Johnny Reb is out so we are just the Rebels no the Johnny Rebels. Over all as far as the students are concerned this isn't a big deal to change.  They would love to get one in there that is more them and less controversial.  (Ian's mom and dad here: we are glad to see it go.  Yeah that is what was there when we were, but even back then we were trying to take action to change.)  Please help your child in making this a positive transition and try not to drag them down whith your opionion.  We are just kids and we need strong rollmodles to help us get past this change.  The last thing we need is to fight with parents about what it used to be and how this change takes away their heritage.
Just love on your child.  Show them support with the new fight song and maybe suggest some new mascots.  We can make this a positive change.  1 person at a time.  I am blessed to my parents helping me through this and leading by example.  Thanks MOM and DAD.

First Day of 10th Grade - Southside High School

I started my 10th grade year Monday, August 17, 2015.  I can tell you it is already going to be an interesting year.  I have a large course load but I can handle it. Also, they are meeting all my needs with my 504 and my teachers seem to me willing and eager to help in anyway they can.  This is the year I am going to really try.  I feel so positive about it.  Everything seems to have changed this summer.  I feel more like an adult but still a kid.  It is weird.  "for those of you who think this is my parents typing this out, you are right! but in all honesty it is my words. I don't trust them to do it without me, so we do it all together. "

Kansas City

WE HAD SO MUCH FUN!  We went to Great Wolf Lodge and to a Shania Twain concert.  The great part about Great Wolf is that it is all inside the hotel.  They have restaurants, arcade, huge indoor waterpark, magiquest, spa and many more things.  We went there back in 2011.  Click Here to see pictures from our first trip there.  We very rarely get to go out of town and just enjoy a vacation on our own.  It is normally centered around work, doctors appointments or family.  So when we got this chance to just get away all by ourselves we jumped at it.  Shania is doing a final tour before she gives it up for good and when we heard she was coming to Kansas City, we knew we had to not only go to the concert, but we had to go to Great Wolf.

Daddy went with a basic meat pizza.  Mommy did a breakfast pizza and I ate a shrimp pizza.  It was so good and so weird.

The toddler size hat didn't fit my mommy.  Never does.  She has a small head but a large brain.  Ha
MagiQuest is an electronic scavenger hunt.  You get clues through electronic sensors throughout the hotel.  You have a wand and you can wave it at picture frames, treasure chests, crystals, animals and other random things hidden throughout the hotel.  Each clue gets you closer and closer to slaying the dragon at the end and saving the kingdom.  My mommy played along with me this time.  It was so fun to teach her all my tips and tricks.

Lots of times in life Daddy seems to be the bigger kid.

Bringing Daddy a pitcher of soda made him so so happy.  Anybody that knows my Daddy knows he gets 1000 refills.  This saved the lady a lot of work.
